GRADUATE ALLIANCE FOR EDUCATION IN LOUISIANA
DISSERTATION WRITING FELLOWSHIP

The Graduate Alliance for Education in Louisiana (GAELA) is pleased to announce the availability of four Dissertation Writing Fellowships for the 2007 calendar year or 2007-08 academic year.  Students who are in the final stages of completing their doctoral work in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline, and who meet the eligibility criteria below, are encouraged to apply for the fellowships.  The fellowships are intended to allow doctoral degree candidates to concentrate on writing and defending their dissertation.

The fellowships are for one year and carry a $18,000 stipend.  They will be awarded on a competitive basis. To be considered for one of the fellowships, please submit  a curriculum vitae, a copy of an approved dissertation research  prospectus and proof of admission to candidacy, a letter of recommendation from the dissertation advisor, and a statement of your expected defense date and career plans after graduation.
